That's not rhetorical, I'm genuinely asking. I know there can be a sort of weirdness to doing traditional group activities on your own, like going to a movie theater or eating at a restaurant. Which is ridiculous! It's a movie. It's food. It can be nice to have companionship for those things, but they're definitely not required and it really shouldn't be seen as strange. And it shouldn't be weird to want to play a multiplayer game all by yourself, either.
The good news is that The Division 2 is mostly pretty friendly to solo players. I'm now just over 50 percent complete on story missions and I've played them all by myself. They can definitely be a real struggle at times, and I'm progressing much more slowly than the other PC Gamer folks who play with friends and strangers, but it's do-able. Here are some tips for those of you who, for whatever reason, are going it alone in The Division 2.
After around 30 hours of The Division 2 with 12 of those spent in the betamy biggest takeaway is that reloading will get you killed. You may be playing alone but your enemies have so many friends.
They flank you and rush you, and as you level up you'll start running into more and more enemies who have skills and gadgets just like you do. There's really no good time during a battle to take a break to reload, so don't. At least, don't do it often.
In other words, choose a primary weapon with a really big mag. There aren't many to pick from, but the Classic M60 and the M are the way to go. They have round mags that let you shoot roughly forever before you need to reload.
It also allows for easy suppression of multiple jerks at once, which gives you time to reload on the rare occasions you need to, or even better, it gives you a window to rush up and finish them at close range. Whether being rushed or rushing yourself, shotguns—especially those that allow five or seven shots without reloading—are essential.
It's even better when you've got a shotgun in your pistol slot, too, because why is there even a pistol slot? Pistols almost never drop, and they all suck and I never use them. So keep your eyes peeled for a double-barrel sawed-off shotgun you can put in your pistol slot to actually get some use out of it.
The sawed-off has changed my agent's life. It's deadly and perfect for when your two main guns are out of ammo, it packs a big punch, and it reloads in a flash. I've only ever found one, and I'm now about four levels higher than it is, but it's still extremely effective and I'll keep it until I find another one. It feels instinctual to immediately unlock a skill that will let you revive yourself, in this case, the Hive Reviver skill.

On its face it looks cool, but I'm not sure how it really adds much. Which feels like a poor tradeoff when you can get the heal buffs and duration buffs you need out of BTSU gloves.
Same goes for CL, I don't see how arty buffs would make up for losing a slot. The pace of combat means you're constantly moving your skills, so duration is meaningless a lot of the time. And the damage added doesn't outdo having another DPS skill. The only cool upside I see potential in is that it fully heals your shield.
So if shields had threat you could pair with a healer to be incredibly tanky and effective. But that's not the case right now.
It's only going to work well with turrets drones to an extent, but good luck having the drones be anywhere near your hive very oftenbut having to throw it out to a teammates turret, and then go pick it up and re place it every time they move it is way more work than it's worth. And not great as a team skill or for skill builders.

It will refresh the turret so that it can fire continuously for a reasonable amount of time rather than dropping out very quickly as it does otherwise. Also able to use it on my belt with a Shield build as described above. I run Berserk with a Shield and AR. Pop the shield out once my armour is gone and carry on protected by the Shield with full Berserk buffs active.

Signature weapons are devastatingly powerful when it comes to damage but ammo is very limited. Luckily, ammo does drop during missions and you can pick it up now and then. The following are some of the skills that the Sharpshooter specialization has:. Scouting drone that locates and identifies enemies to the entire team. This is similar to the pulse skill. This can be upgraded for longer battery life and a higher amount of HP.
With this specialization, you also get the 93R burst-fire pistol as a sidearm.
It is hard to justify using this sidearm, as there are other weapons that are much better. Fortunately, you do not have to use it and you can use any sidearm in the game. This is an ideal specialization for clearing our mobs of weak enemies or taking out a boss relatively quickly. The specialization is great for crowd control. This is a support specialization in Division 2 and does not do as much damage as the Shart Shooter or the Demolitionist.
The specialization focuses on effects such as burn or dizziness. The survivalist has a crossbow that acts like a rifle but a grenade as well. You can shoot it at an enemy and do decent damage but you can also shoot it in the environment and it will explode like a grenade.
The Gunner specialization has the mini gatling gun which can do a ton of DPS.
